Advice!
Where do you start? You feel intimidated in the store because you know nothing, and just want to know what is right or wrong for you or your beloved offspring! Case Studies Tough Choices! The bottom line, is to pick what is right for you, that makes you want to play. If you want to start on electric, fine. At the end of the day, all these guitars have six strings, and you play them basically the same way, so there is no reason why, if you like electric guitar, it wouldn't benefit you to test the waters on a budget classic. Sometimes it is good for the youngster to 'work their way up' to an electric. Some great players have unwittingly learned on terrible instruments, and when they have got a good one really go off! That is not to say you should deliberately get a dodgy old guitar though, as these people were the exception, and maybe because of circumstance couldn't afford a good axe! Good luck in your search.
