Maybe I can help you! The are some things I have discovered by years of experimentation, hours of both useful and wasted practice time, and of course trial and error.... 

There are many common mistakes I wish I could have avoided had I had an inspiring guitar teacher like Andy Di Stefano, Gerard O'mara or Steve & Nicky Smith, and would recommend you get a quality tutor to help you, even if you are already good, as you can always get better, much better, and the best organized people are always more likely to succeed in their quest.
