The mighty G
chord, play C and G together and write a rock classic!
Add the D
chord!
The ultimate
E power chord! Swing that arm wildly just like Pete Townshend of the
who!
The easy
version of F. Use the first finger to 'barre' 2 strings.
The A chord,
goes great with E and D!
"Good Lord!".... play most Neil Diamond songs!
The elusive
B7! A Beatles fave!
The A minor,
add to G and F to play the heavy bit of Stairway to Heaven and more!
D minor,
Nigel Tufnell of Spinal Tap's seminal opening chord of the classical
tribute to Mozart....
E minor,
almost Enter Sandman!
Master the F
barre chord and you are a hero! Ouch! Good luck!
If
you are very tough try this C barre chord, using a partial barre with
the third finger. You may prefer to deaden the E string as shown, but
for very tough heroes try playing it with the barre lifted over the E
string, to produce the G note held by the 1st finger barre at the 3rd
fret on the E string.... double ouch!
The position of the bar chord can be moved, like the power chord.
Most common positions for the F based chord:
3rd fret = G, 5th fret = A, 7th fret = B, 8th fret
= C, 10th fret = D, 12th fret = E.
Other useful possies! The dreaded sharp and flats!
4th fret =G#or Ab, 6th fret =A# or Bb, 9th fret
=C# or Db, 11th fret =D# or Eb
