The lick page.
A collection of my favourite exercises and licks. As used by Jimi Van Klapsteen of Led
TrouserSnake fame. In TAB the bottom line is the low E string, and the
numbers are the frets to play.
Build up your speed! Play it in triplet
fashion: eg 1 & a 2 & a etc
---------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------4------4--5--4----------------------------------------
----7--5--7------7------------7--4--7--5----------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is a simple but nasty exercise! Strict alternate picking!
Move it up and down, get the right hand working!
-----------------------------------------4-3-2-1------------------------------
---------------------------------1-2-3-4---------1-2-3-4----------------------

---------4-3-2-1--------------------------------------------------------------

This is a fave left hand builder... all left hand, very Jimmy Page.
Hammer and pull with strength.
Dont be shy, raise the left hand in the air to show off!

-5-2-0-4-2-0------------------------------------------------------------------

This is great for left hand strength and right hand co-ordination.
Play the groups of four, bending the fourth note,
get it as quick as possible.

2: This is good to build extreme pull off speed and co-ordination.
Pick all the notes without the "P"! Repeat quickly and build to warp speed.

3: I like Michael Schenker! This is good to get his legato left hand style,
while using the aeolian mode.

Remember, take each small lick and perfect it, then group licks together.
I will keep a very regular supply of licks, so keep visiting.
Good luck! JP.
